Deliberative democracy is one of the major growth areas in contemporary political theory, social science, and political reform. ANU claims the world’s largest concentration of scholars in the field. Our research covers theoretical and empirical work; from small group analysis to global institutions.

On 16th February 2012 we will be holding a 1½ hr review and exhibition of this work, comprising several 10 minute presentations, followed by 30 minutes of questions/discussion.

This event is intended to review and publicize the work of scholars associated with the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance. We welcome anyone interested in learning about this field and the ANU contributions to it, be they scholars, teachers, practitioners, or policy makers.

The presentations include:

John Dryzek

The Politics of Public Deliberation: Citizen Engagement and Interest Advocacy
